  • HEMP MILK GOODNESS!!

    I love to make my own milks, knowing that there are zero additives and how simple it is, why not? Hemp milk is wonderful because you don't need to do any prep work and all it requires are three items to make this yummy frothy goodness! 

    Hemp Seeds are a great source of protein, vitamin E and minerals. They're considered a complete protein source, which means they provide all the essential amino acids. 2-3 tablespoons provide around 11 grams of protein! This worthy superfood is nutty in flavor, rich in healthy fats and incredibly healthy. 

    HOMEMADE HEMP MILK RECIPE
    2 tablespoons of Hemp Seeds
    2 cups of Water 
    Blender 

    FLAVORING YOUR MILK (optional)
    If you're someone who prefers flavored milks, you can have your ingredients ready & set off to the side. Below are some flavor ideas/options.
    Vanilla Spice Hemp Milk
    1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
    1 date (pitted and soaked)
    1/4 tsp Cinnamon
    1 pinch Nutmeg
    1 pinch Sea Salt
    Strawberry Hemp Milk
    1-2 Fresh Strawberries
    1 tsp Maple 
    1 pinch Sea Salt
    Some other sweetener options are: Stevia, Honey, Coconut Nectar
    Some other extracts: Almond, Maple, Rose, Orange 
    *For this recipe I added 1tsp of homemade Rose Honey and 1 pinch of Himalayan Sea Salt. Have fun with it!
    DIRECTIONS 
    Add 2 tablespoons of Hemp Seeds and 2 cups of water to your blender.
    Blend on high speed for 45-55 seconds, watching for the milk to froth and the Hemp Seeds to breakdown. At this point you can add your extra flavoring. Blend for another 10-15 seconds.   
    Make sure to taste the milk and adjust the flavoring to your liking; you can add more or less to taste. Pour your milk into a vessel with a sealed lid and voila, you have homemade Hemp Milk!
    EXTRA NOTES:
    This milk should last between 3-5 days. 
    If you live in a large household I suggest doubling or tripling the recipe depending on your milk use. I use 16oz for up to 5 lattes/week.
