  • MEDITATION

With all the universals shifts happening, the call to sit in meditation has been deeply present. Some of my greatest ideas, inspirations & knowledge have come from sitting closed eyed and listening. In my experience, most think meditation means being in silence/shutting off the mind, but the real goal is to slow down your brain wave patterns just enough for the mind & body to rest; this way we can actually capture some of those great ideas & inspirations!
I find that having a word or mantra (a statement or slogan repeated frequently) to focus on can be supportive. One of my teachers shares a great explanation of meditation and working with your mantra :
“Imagine you’re throwing a party and your “mantra/word” is the guest of honor. The others attending the party are your “thoughts”. Throughout the party you interact with the others (your thoughts), but you always make sure to check in on your guest of honor (your mantra). Having this point of focus (mantra) brings you back to center; and if your thoughts take over, that’s ok! That’s why it’s called a meditation “practice.” Just like anything you want to learn in life, it takes practice & persistence. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

VEDIC MEDITATION Format: 20min 2x/day -1st session when you wake up before you do anything, including looking at your phone ;)
-2nd session in the afternoon, around the time we typically crash, to provide rest & an energy boost!
*At the end of 20min take 1 minute to visualize what you’re grateful for and 1 minute to state what you would like to create (health, kindness, love, connection…).
